Additional policies and FAQs

All of my yarn and roving is hand-dyed using professional acid dyes in individual batches, making every skein or braid completely unique. If you would like to place a custom order for more than one skein of the same colourway, or if you would like a roving braid custom dyed for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch and I'll see what I can do!

I make sure that I set all of my yarns and roving properly and I aim to make everything I sell completely colourfast, but please bear in mind that some colours - specifically darker or more saturated colours - may have a little excess dye run-off when they are washed. Please don't be alarmed if there is some "bleeding" of the dye - however, if you are concerned that your yarn or roving is running TOO MUCH, please contact me and I will try and solve the issue - most yarns will be fine after the first wash, but in rare cases, some may need to be sent back to me to be properly set.

I recommend that all of my yarns and roving braids - except the ones marked "Superwash" - be delicately hand washed in luke-warm water with a little wool-suitable detergent or a no-rinse solution like Soak or Eucalan. This will help to ensure that your yarn does not felt and will continue to smell nice and feel soft. Superwash yarns are at their best when delicately hand or machine washed, and put into a tumble dryer for a short time.

All Spectra stitch markers have been painstakingly hand-made. They are usually sold in sets of 5, and some of the sets include a special marker to indicate the beginning of a new row when knitting in the round. All markers are snag-free unless otherwise stated. Lots of the beads used in my markers are GLASS and can break if not handled with care - please be careful with them!
If you would like a set of more than 5 markers, please contact me with your request and I will try and meet your request.

All of my items are photographed by me, at home, with a fairly modest camera. I strive to accurately represent colours in my pictures but please bear in mind that monitor colours and settings can vary from screen to screen. If you would like to see close-ups of any of my items please feel free to contact me and request them!

A NOTE FOR ALLERGY SUFFERERS:
I share my home with my two beautiful cats, one rottweiler, and three small children. I take great care in ensuring that none of my little menagerie comes into contact with any of my yarn, but I understand that the mere presence of an animal can contaminate yarn to the point that some allergy sufferers cannot tolerate it.
Also bear in mind that I sell many different BLENDS of fiber - any one skein of yarn can contain a mixture of any of the following;
Merino wool, Blue-faced Leicester wool, Baby Alpaca, Cashmere, Silk, Bamboo and Nylon.
If you are allergic to any of the fibers listed above, please consider your allergies before purchasing any of my yarn. A full fiber list will be included on every item page, but just in case you missed it...its here too ;)
Also bear in mind that if you allergic to LANOLIN - an oil regularly used on wool - then some of my items may not be suitable for you.
